Changing IP Address in Windows 10: A Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1: Access Control Panel

Type "Control Panel" in the search bar, and selecting it from the results.

Step 2: Navigate to Network Settings

In the Control Panel, locate the section labeled 'Network and Internet' and click on it. 

Within this section, you will find an option titled 'Network and Sharing Center'. Click on 'Network and Sharing Center' to proceed further.

Step 3: Access Adapter Settings

In the Network and Sharing Center, find and click "Change Adapter Settings" in the left menu.

Step 4: Access Properties

Right-click the network connection and select Properties from the drop-down menu.

Step 5: Configure IPv4 Settings

In the list of items, find and select "Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4).

Click Properties to open the Properties window.

Step 6: Obtain IP Configuration

Simultaneously, open Command Prompt by clicking on the Start menu, typing "CMD" in the search bar, and selecting Command Prompt from the results.

 Type "ipconfig" and hit Enter to view your current IP configuration.

Step 7: Edit IP Address

In the IPv4 properties window, select the option to manually set IP addresses. Enter the desired IP address, subnet mask, and default gateway based on your network requirements.

Step 8: Test Connection

Return to the Command Prompt and type "ping 192.168.1.15" (replace with your chosen IP address) to check if the new configuration is working. 

 If not, then set these values.

 And again, type to "ping 192.168.1.15" in CMD

Step 9: Finalize Changes

Once you've confirmed the new IP address is functioning correctly, hit Enter to apply the changes. Close all open windows, including Control Panel and Command Prompt, to complete the process.
